The Atlanta Falcons have made the final cuts for the 53-man roster. By 9 p.m. Friday, all NFL teams had to have their rosters down to 53 players.
Of the 21 players cut by the Falcons, “surprise” cuts were cornerback Dominique Franks and linebacker Spencer Adkins. Both players saw a decent amount of time last year with the team. This year, Franks was in the mix for returner duties.
The Falcons also cut wide receiver Drew Davis, tackle Bryce Harris, defensive tackle Conrad Obi, longsnapper Joe Zelenka, linebacker Rico Council, cornerback Marty Markett, wide receiver Marcus Jackson, running back Dimitri Nance, wide receiver Kerry Meier, cornerback Peyton Thompson, linebacker Jerrell Harris, center Tyler Horn, defensive tackle Micanor Regis, wide receiver James Rodgers, safety Suaesi Tuimaunei, and linebacker Pat Schiller.
The team also reached injury settlements with guard Andrew Jackson and tight end LaMark Brown.
Safety Shann Schillinger was placed on injured reserve.
